216Acculturation and Educational strategies of Korean Chinese moved to Beijing:Focusing on Language educationThe Korean Chinese are a people who have experienced considerable migration. They have changed their linguistic environment and linguistic consciousness under the influence of other languages during the various changes that have occurred due to migration. The problematic awareness of the status of ethnic language inheritance among Korean Chinese who are currently raising their children in new migratory destinations, is the starting point of this study. This study focuses on the educational strategies of Korean Chinese living in Beijing. Language education, which is essential for the transmission of ethnic culture, will be analyzed. The migration rate of Korean Chinese is very high, and it is significant to analyze the educational strategies of Korean Chinese in large cities where there are no Korean Chinese schools. In order to address this issue, we conducted an interview-based survey of Korean Chinese who had migrated to Beijing in order to study the transformation of their own language environment and their strategies for educating the next generation. The first thing that emerges from the discussion is that there is a shift in the language used between generations. Next, regarding the method of education, in the case of the subjects living in Korean Chinese residential areas, there are many cases of natural acquisition through the Korean Chinese cultural environment in which they were born and raised, whereas in the case of the next generation living in mixed neighborhoods’ with Han Chinese, there are many cases of deliberate teaching. It was found that language education by Korean Chinese parents and communication with family members play an important role in the acquisition of the Korean Chinese language at home. Furthermore, outside the home, apart from the use of social education facilities, the efforts of the Korean Chinese community are essential. As a future task, this research will be further developed, considering comparative studies not only within China, but also internationally beyond the country.Liying LI
